Identrica Limited

Identrica was established as Desktop Guardian in 1996 following the development of its revolutionary X5X6 probabilistic cipher. The X5X6 cipher was runner-up as "Best New Security Product" in the 1998 Information Management Awards. The company has since provided bespoke security solutions to clients including Sun Microsystems and NHS Trusts. It has focused increasingly on the challenges of user authentication and identity management, initially using its proprietary cipher to design new, user-friendly solutions including the X-Identity USB token. The concept of the Identrica mobile-phone-based authentication system was developed in 2002 - 2003, and substantial funding was secured from Scottish Enterprise and the Bank of Scotland in early 2004. Identrica's Head Office is in Edinburgh and its Development Office is in Olney, Buckinghamshire. The company recently signed a European distribution agreement for its Identrica Service with Risc Technology Europe, the leading distributor of Information Security software and services.
