Business Beyond the Recession
Leading finance experts are set to give young innovative companies facing the trauma of turmoil in the financial markets and a deep economic recession a message of encouragement.
They will address a special seminar organised by Innovation Centres Scotland at the Alba Innovation Centre in Livingston.
Financial backing is essential to the aspirations and success of young high-growth potential technology companies that will drive Scotland’s economy beyond the current global recession.
An insight into the attitude of financial institutions and business angels in helping companies through the downturn will be delivered by David Grahame, chief executive of the business angel body LINC Scotland and Tom Brock of the Clydesdale Bank.
They will address the ‘Support for Innovation and Technology Businesses’ on Thursday 27th November which runs from 9am until 2pm.
The programme offers a mixture of workshops, displays, seminars and one-to-one sessions providing an ideal opportunity for companies to meet the key organisations that can help them grow their company.
Stephen Morris, Senior Innovation Manager at the Alba Innovation Centre, said: “These are difficult and uncertain economic times especially for young innovative technology companies who can rely heavily on external financial support to develop their products ands bring them to the market place.”
“It’s important these companies that will play a key role in taking Scotland’s economy forward beyond the downturn are not discouraged and are aware of the resources and support that is available to them especially in these days of difficult economic circumstances. Our guest speakers are well placed to give an insight into the attitude of banks and investors and present a realistic picture of the assistance available.”
The event is open to all SME’s in the technology sector and places can be booked by emailing: albaforums@innovationcentre.org
