SCOTTISH COMPANIES BENEFIT FROM 3GSM RIPPLE EFFECT
In the few weeks since the international 3GSM show in Barcelona many of the Scottish companies that attended are seeing the discussions they had with potential customers translate into firm orders worth millions.
3GSM took place in mid February and is the premier global mobile show, attracting over 50,000 visitors from all over the world. This year saw a record number of Scottish companies in the wireless technology sector at the show doing business.
Tony Ianniello, CEO at Dreamteam Interactive said:
“This was definitely our best 3GSM. We met a number of major players and concluded two deals which are worth in excess of $10 million.” Dreamteam Interactive provide animated sports alert service, as soon as they happen, to mobile phones.
Nigel Chadwick at Stream Communications added:
“We have been very busy following up on all the meetings at 3GSM and we are on target to achieve several hundred thousand euros of new business as a result of the show. Some of the largest mobile network operators are now asking for us to demonstrate our capability.” Stream Communications is a full service MVNO, focused on providing a full and advanced range of mobile network services for the telemetry, data and M2M sector.
David Reilly, Wireless technology Adviser at Wireless Innovation who attended the show commented:
“3GSM gets bigger every year and represents an excellent opportunity for Scottish companies to bring their applications to a global marketplace. Attending 3GSM is an opportunity for companies to develop an understanding of the complexity and dynamic of the Mobile/Wireless industry. Many of those who attended this year and made the effort to speak to key industry players are already seeing the benefit on their balance sheet.”
