4cDesign shell livewire Runner up
4C Design Ltd was pipped at the post by Borders based Black Circles Ltd, an innovative online and call centre tyre retailer. Both have earned the right to head down to the UK Final in London in June to compete for the prestigious UK Award. Scottish based companies have won the UK Award for four of the last five years.
Commenting on the award, Duncan Robbie, Shell LiveWIRE Director in Scotland said; “For the last 21 years the Shell LiveWIRE Young Entrepreneur of the Year awards have been recognising and helping Scotland’s young entrepreneurs explore setting up in business. 4C Design is a tremendous young company and well worthy of being one of Scotland’s representative’s in London next month.
4C Design Ltd, which was formed in February 2002 is a fast growing product development and engineering design company whose projects have included an innovative liferaft and equipment used by the emergency services.
Each finalist made a presentation to a panel of judges made up of highly respected business people who then had the difficult task of deciding the winners in five awards categories and the overall winner of the Shell LiveWIRE Young Entrepreneur of the Year 2002.
