Turing Festival
At the end of Dec 2010, 2 billion people globally were using the web. The web is the most powerful tool known to man! The Turing Festival brings together a wealth of knowledge, talent and ideas to capitalise on the opportunities posed by the internet and look at what the future holds for the creative, digital and cultural sectors. This festival is for entrepreneurs, developers, managers, creative thinkers, cool people, technologists and evangelists to discuss, debate, learn and predict the future of the web and the impact that might have. Running alongside the world reknowned Edinburgh International Festival and Guardian Media Festival, the Turing Festival offers a weekend of interactive gatherings and conferences with industry leading professionals who will challenge your business idea and leave you wanting more!
The Turing Festival, organised by Interactive Scotland, Edinburgh City Council and Edinburgh Science Triangle as part of the EU funded Open Innovation Project partnership, will bring together the cream of Europe’s technical and digital talent to capitalise on the opportunities and thrash out the issues at the heart of our social, cultural and economic future. The concept of 'open innovation' as a means to boost competitiveness and growth will be central to the programme, which complements Scotland's innovative culture.
The opening event at the Turing Festival, the @Digital conference brought to you by Interactive Scotland, brings together an exclusive wealth of local and international talent and speakers from across the digital, creative and cultural sectors to discuss and lead the debate around digital multi-platforms and how their evolution impacts the business, cultural and social aspects of communication and interactivity … are we moving towards a multi-future?
