Gladstone MRM awarded Investor in People Standard
Gladstone MRM (Scotland and Northern Ireland) was recently awarded the Investors in People Scotland Standard. Gladstone MRM provides the leisure industry with specialist software to enable the effective management of membership information systems. The Standard was set up by employers to benefit both employers and employees and has helped companies succeed and compete through improved people performance.
Gladstone MRM (Scotland and Northern Ireland) employs ten people and operates a flat reporting structure. The office is headed by John Cowx, Regional Business Manager. Although its parent company, Gladstone plc, determines the overall strategy for the group and monitors its performance against this strategy, the Scottish office has its own business plan and budgets.
Gladstone MRM (Scotland and Northern Ireland) has been enjoying considerable success in the marketplace and, as a result, has grown in turnover, profit and numbers of staff employed. Further growth is planned and the company believes that ongoing staff development is essential in ensuring that they can respond effectively to these challenges.
According to John Cowx: “Gladstone MRM values its reputation for quality and customer service. This reputation, together with the achievement of its business targets, could not be achieved without the commitment, skills and flexibility of the team. We know that our office is only as good as the people working in it. We need to provide a high standard to meet our customers’ needs. This requires skilled staff to make sure we’re meeting expectations”.
The quality of delivery and a high standard of client care are essential to the success of the business and that staff skills and knowledge are vital in their achievement. The Investors in People Standard provides an effective quality framework for continued organisational development. The office will use the Standard as a framework for continuous improvement and sustained development.
Gladstone plc’s Chief Executive, Ben Merrett has indicated that it is Gladstone plc’s intention to use the Scottish office’s commitment to the national Standard as a building block for the rest of the company to work towards in the future.
