VPM scoops top property award
Property Innovation of the Year Award goes to Glasgow firm. Hillington-based online procurement firm, Virtual Property Market (VPM), has won the title of ‘Property Innovation of the Year’ at the prestigious annual Scottish Property Awards.
The awards, organised by leading trade publication Property Week, recognise the cream of Scotland’s property industry and VPM’s groundbreaking web-based tendering solution has taken the property and facilities management sector by storm since its launch in 2001.
Brendan Morris, managing director of VPM, said: “This is a fantastic accolade and we’re proud to win such a prestigious title ahead of extremely good opposition. It’s no secret that we launched the service in what was a difficult time for all e-commerce-based ventures, but we’ve succeeded in delivering a web solution of real value to the marketplace and are delighted at the take-up so far.”
www.virtualpropertymarket.co.uk – which was founded by three former chartered surveyors, Brendan Morris, Andy Taylor and John Costello – were shortlisted along with Ryden for their development of Stagecoach’s UK Property Business Database, EP Online intranet site for Edinburgh Park and Alba Campus, Livingston, for the award.
