  2. Presentation and Pitching Workshop

    Mar 08 12 Start: 10:00 End: 17:00

    Bill Joos of Garage Technology Ventures and GotoMarketingdelivers one of the workshops of the cross-disciplinary, transatlantic series of seminars co-sponsored by The Edinburgh Entrepreneurship Club and the Edinburgh-Stanford Link of the School of Informatics. More than any other Silicon Valley lesson, what Scotland really needs, Bill brings to it in this session. "Its not what you say but how and when you say it".

    The event which is co-hosted by Edinburgh Stanford Link and Hillington Park Innovation Centre will cover three main areas;

    1.  The Top Ten Mistakes in Business Plans
    Your business plan is the most important document you'll write as an entrepreneur. It can be the ticket to funding, and getting interest from potential clients and partners. Learn what _NOT_ to do so you can develop a hard-hitting, compelling business case for your company.

    2.   Perfecting Your Positioning
    Before you can pitch your company to raise funds or attract strategic partners and alliances, you've got to perfect your positioning. This workshop will provide you with a systematic approach to help you better determine your all important market definition and value propositions.
    This program features a hard-copy, walk-away tool that helps define these for a technology based start-up company. Participants will be taught how to use this tool which is based on a case-study example of a real startup.

    3.  Perfecting Your Pitching
    Learn how to craft the best possible pitch (presentation) in the shortest possible time. This session will take you through the process of creating and delivering a compelling “elevator pitch”, executive summary and 12-14 slide company overview presentation."

    This seminar is a must for any company looking to perfect the sales pitch for their business!
