Dataserv

Working with Dataserv Compliance, Dataserv UK and Dataserv in mainland Europe, Dataserv Recycling can protect you from the logistical, security, legislative and environmental liabilities associated with unwanted computer equipment. As a group, we have taken care of over 500,000 individual units for 2,500 separate organisations across Europe in the last 12 months. Dataserv Recycling, is a wholly owned subsidiary of Dataserv Group. (www.dataservuk.com) Our integrated approach makes us a unique ‘’One-Stop Solution’’ affording ‘’End to End Compliance’’ within the WEEE Directive . We will take care of audit, cataloguing, collection, data eradication, re-deployment to charitable institutions or for revenue – wherever possible - and/or destruction and recycling. We will be happy to work with you to establish what is most appropriate. In every case our integrated, quality controlled service operates under maximum security, monitoring each piece of equipment through every process, which is why we have been entrusted with the destruction and processing of equipment containing sensitive data from Government and MOD departments across Europe. Our services all comply with the European WEEE (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment) directive, Sarbanes Oxley, SEAP, Basel ll, HIPAA, FISMA, FACT, ACT and StEp, and we are members of Industry Council for Electronic Equipment Recycling (ICER) Dataserv Recycling is recognised by the Environment Agency as an 'Approved Authorised Treatment Facility' AATF. Under this authority Dataserv Recycling is licensed to accept Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) at its UK site which can subsequently re-used, treated, recovered and/or recycled corporate social responsibility In common with our determination to help our customers manage and reduce the environmental and social 'footprints' of their IT resources - as cost effectively and realistically as possible – Dataserv Recycling provides its own unique CSR policy, made up of a number of key initiatives. These initiatives all contribute to our customers' assurance that they can cede total responsibility to Dataserv Recycling for their environmental liabilities, as well as guaranteeing that there are no legislative risks to their business through redundant or unwanted IT resources. Many of these initiatives actually exceed the guideline specifications laid down by the BSI These key initiatives include: • Managing our own resources and staff to ensure ethical, environmental and behavioural compliance with all local and national legislation, as well as ensuring all our activities are carried out responsibly and have minimal impact on the environment. • Managing both upstream and downstream supply chains to ensure ethical compliance and behaviour. We carry out audits on all key supply chain vendors and customers to ensure that they follow the correct standards and in turn, their own customers. For instance we audit all refining partners to ensure that equipment that has followed our prescribed recycling teardown process at our own recycling facilities does not turn up in other markets. • Actively encouraging re-use, rather than breakdown and recycling, where appropriate. Combined with our radical breakdown processes, this means we are able to keep landfill from IT products to an absolute minimum • Ensuring all employees and management are subject to regular review meetings where environmental and legislative issues are discussed and policies set. These reviews cover all our procedures and those of our suppliers that relate to our services. • Ensuring transportation and logistics are run as efficiently as possible to limit pollution thereby reducing energy use.cal. Certification and licences We are Certified to BE EN ISO 9001:2000 Quality We are fully compliant with the Environmental Protection Act 1990 and are accredited with Environmental Standard of ISO 14001. Our Blanco Data Cleaner ensures that each time a hard drive is wiped using Blanco, a detailed erasure report is generated and copied to the hard drive of the machine, with Hardware Asset Management information that meets and exceeds compliance and regulatory requirements of SOX, HIPAA, FISMA, FACT, ACT, etc. Blanco Data Cleaner erases all data including confidential, secret and top-secret security level data. It also covers all recognised international standards. The equipment we dispose of is recycled in compliance with the European WEEE (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment) and RoHS (the restriction of the use of certain hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment) Directives and disposal documents, such was Waste Transfer Notes, Carriers Licences, Certificates of Recycling etc will be produced upon request.
