Interactive Scotland launches to support Digital Media companies in Scotland

An event targeted at the Digital Media Sector in Scotland!!

Venue: The Hub, Digital Media Quarter, Pacific Quay, Glasgow

Digital Media (DM) is one of the key growth sectors for our economy. There is a wealth of talent and an abundance of new ideas and innovative solutions. To capitalise on this, we are bringing together some of the industry’s key players to discuss the global challenges facing the digital media sector, identify some major opportunities and highlight their future predictions for this evolving sector.

This event will introduce Interactive Scotland*, an exciting digital media initiative designed to support Scottish SMEs in developing creative products, services, content and application solutions

The event will end with an industry panel discussion where some key individuals from the digital media industry will be asked to debate the main challenges and issues facing this industry and provide their opinions on where the opportunities and future growth lie.

The event line up will include: -

Stuart Cosgrove, Director of Nations and Regions, Channel 4 . Stuart will describe the key recommendations from the recently published Digital Inspirations strategy and what this means for the Digital Media industry in Scotland.

Lena Wilson, Chief Executive, Scottish Enterprise. Lena will provide Scottish Enterprise's response to the Digital Inspirations strategy and provide an overview of Interactive Scotland.

Danny Meaney, Managing Director, New Media Partners. Danny will provide a glimpse into the future of the Digital Media sector in Scotland. He will discuss emerging trends and some of the challenges currently facing this sector and look at new commissioning models and the opportunities they will afford Scottish companies, both on a UK and global scale.

John Maxwell Hobbs, former Head of Creative Development for Ericsson CyberLab in New York and now Head of Technology and co-manager of the Innovation Team at BBC Scotland. John will share the BBC’s innovation strategy and outline what SMEs need to do to develop potential solutions for the BBC.
