Introduction Electronic transactions have been with us for some time and most people are now comfortable with the payment for goods or services over the Internet. As with all communications, there are risks and there have been scams, however, the industry has learnt its lessons and has moved forwards and the public at large is well protected. Technology moves on and we are now entering the era of payments via the mobile phone, laptop computers and other handheld devices connected by wireless means.
