  1. Plexus European Design Centre Opening (internal event)

    Plexus would like to invite you to the official opening of the company's expanded European Design Centre at the Alba Campus in Livingston on Wednesday April 25th. The centre is being officially opened by Jack Perry, Chief Executive at Scottish Enterprise and Andy Allen, Plexus VP Europe at 11 am, after which we would like to invite you to join us for lunch. The new 3,670 sq metre design centre, located in the heart of Scotland's technology corridor, will offer state-of-the-art design services to the burgeoning local technology sector alongside major branded corporations throughout Europe. During the opening celebrations Plexus is inviting product innovators to participate in free half hour design surgeries. The surgeries are being hosted by the in-house engineering team and are open to anyone who has a design problem to solve or a great product idea that they need help to bring to market.   2. Technology Marketing Workshop

    Need high impact marketing for your technology business, but don’t have a massive budget, then come to a special marketing workshop with Karen Hewitt of Ogam Marketing to find out how to achieve a lot with a little. ScotlandIS and Alba Innovation Centre have joined forces to address the needs of a growing number of Scottish technology businesses in need of a marketing strategy tailored to technology, designed for maximum impact, and within a small budget.

    Marketing technology has its own challenges, and requires specialist tools and techniques. The workshop will demonstrate marketing messages, tools and techniques that really work for your kind of business. This workshop will address technology marketing challenges, adopting a strategic approach, understanding your target audience, useful marketing techniques and convincing marketing messages, along with real life examples of how these have helped previous clients.

    Edit, a leader in the field of bulk document capture, will provide a client case study on their experiences in identifying a very successful strategic marketing campaign for their target markets.

    Each company attending will be entitled to a follow up one-to-one session on Friday 9th November at the Alba Innovation Centre where you get your own personal half hour to help you focus on the right areas, and get individual advice on YOUR business.

    Presenter’s Bios: Main Speaker - Karen Hewitt, MBA (Marketing), DipM, BSc (Hons) Karen Hewitt has 15 years experience in Sales, Marketing and Strategic Management; she has lectured in Strategic Management, and spent two years in Latin America working on technology marketing projects. She was latterly Marketing Director for Gael Ltd, an award-winning Scottish software company, and instrumental in finding international markets for the company’s MindGenius software. Karen founded Ogam Marketing Ltd., a specialist technology marketing company, in July 2006 with her brother Paul, and since then, has helped a number of technology companies to scale up their business with marketing techniques designed to achieve high impact on a low budget. Karen writes regularly on technology marketing topics, and was recently involved in Scottish Enterprise’s Global Companies Development Programme, giving a series of workshops on Global Marketing Research.

    Paul Hewitt, MSc, BSc (Hons), MCIPR Paul Hewitt, has 15 years’ across PR, internal communications and marketing roles, primarily for the IT and financial services sectors. A former journalist, and experienced B2B PR copywriter, Paul has extensive experience of producing the compelling copy which is the foundation of any good marketing or PR programme. Paul’s has written a paper on the impact of e-mail on internal communication in the International Journal of Corporate Communication and a series of articles for Internal Communication magazine.

  3. CEO Masterclasss Innovation in Internet Advertising (internal event)

    The Edinburgh-Stanford Link is pleased to announce another in our series of CEO MasterClass for Autumn 2007.

    These are complimentary, invitation only, gatherings restricted to no more than 20 senior directors of innovative technology companies.
    The classes focus on a singular topic and sessions are interactive.

    The CEO Master Class will be held on Thursday 15 November and our speaker will be serial entrepreneur William Urschel, CEO of AdECN.

    The discussion topic will be on 'Innovation in Internet Advertising'.
    Bill is going to talk about innovation in internet advertising, the markets for internet advertising, as well as his recent startup company that was sold to Microsoft, AdCEN.

    The venue for this Master Class will be the Boardroom,Paterson's Land, Old Moray House, Holyrood Road, EH8 8AQ.  Directions to venue.

  4. Alba Innovation Centre….1 year on (internal event)

    Now a year in operation, we look back over the last year of Alba Innovation Centre, the current and graduate tenants and all the partners involved in making Alba Innovation Centre the success that is it to date.  We will also focus on the future plans of Alba Innovation Centre and where we see the long term plans for company incubation in Scotland.
